The farms newest arrival

Sky the sheepdog has arrived

Our newest arrival Sky, arrived in mid October. She is a 10 month old partly trained tricolour border collie. Her job on the farm will be to work with farmer Edward and the sheep. She has settled in well and is already rounding up the sheep out in the fields. She will also help with the lambing when it starts in February 2008. She has'nt learnt to make the farmer a cup of tea yet !

Sky's Accident

Unfortunately, Sky was involved in a very nasty road traffic accident a few weeks ago. She was transferred from our local vets to a specialist vet clinic in Swindon where she had two major operations and emergency blood transfusions. After two weeks she has now come home and has lots of serious rehabilitation to do. She has one leg in plaster with lots of nuts and bolts helping to mend her legs. The good news is that she is expected to make a full recovery although she won't be chasing any sheep for a good few months. Watch this space for updates on her recovery.

Dolly's Piglets

Dolly our Gloucester Old spot sow has had nine beautifull, healthy, spotty piglets (six boys and 3 girls). She has done well as she only had eight last year. Her piglets spend most of their time drinking milk and sleeping although their characters are just beginning to show. Which one is your favourite.

Two New Baby Foals

It's finally happened - Ruby the miniature shetland pony and Honey the Haflinger have had their foals just in time for the summer season. Ruby's foal is called Lily and she was only 15 inches high when she was born. She is really friendly and is absolutely adorable. Honey has had another filly (female foal) called Lottie. Her father is the current National Champion in Belgium where Honey is from. One very posh foal. Both foals were born  at the beginning of April and can be seen in the stables or in the paddock every day.

It's calving time

March see's the beginning of our calving period. Our red ruby devon cows are all due to give birth soon with the first of the year "Wolvershill Totty 1st" arriving on March 20th. We also have bought some fantastic show quality heifers (girls) to join our herd. Toby the bull is very pleased !
