Milking show at Court Farm

The Milking Show

Get up close and learn all about the dairy cow and her life in our fun and informative show.

Join Farmer Peter at milking time and watch our two Fresian cows ,Jodie and Jordan, giving their daily pinta's. You will be amazed at just how much they can produce. Learn what you can make from milk and how the Modern Dairy cow lives her life. Help feed the calves after milking with the freshest milk around.

Milking takes place twice daily in the Animal Barn at 11 a.m and 4.30pm.

If you watch the afternoon milking, you may be lucky enough to help take the cows back out to the fields.

Did you know that :

  • Cows are milked for 10 months before they have a 2 month break. This is called their drying off time.
  • All cows have four stomachs. They eat grass, hay, silage and concentrates.
  • A litre of milk consists of 87% water, 4 % fat, 3.35% protein, 4.65% lactose and 1 % minerals and vitamins.
