Wolvershill Texel SheepCourt Farm is home to the Wolvershill Flock of Pedigree Texel SheepEstablished in 2005 with the purchase of in lamb foundation ewes from the renowned Loosebeare, Peacehay and Ballaglonney flocks together with the addition of ewes purchased in 2006 from the Lyonshall, Ettrick, Turin and Loosebeare flocks, Our Pedigree flock has grown to 60 breeding ewes. The initial ewes were in lamb to rams such as Lyonshall King of Clubs ( male champion R.A.S.E 2006), Glenside Lumberjack and Brague Looks Great.
In 2006 two ram lambs were purchased at the English National Sale . The first Crookholm Montoya ARR-ARR (sired by the 10,000gns Penparc Lexus) was much admired and was purchased for 3,800 gns. His strong texel head, conformation and good gigots have been passed to his progeny who are now on the ground. The second ram lamb , Beautry Minto was purchased to add shape to the flock. His lambs this year are all uniform in size and shape and quick to get up and suckle. The aim of the flock is to produce quality rams and breeding stock to suit both pedigree and commercial producers. A rigorous culling programme is in place to ensure that all future breeding stock will perform on other farms. We are members of the National Scrapie plan ( all this years lambs ARR-ARR) , are Signet Performance Recorded and Maeda Visna Accreddited.
