Wolvershill Devon Cows

In 2005, following the dispersal of our small suckler herd of continental cows, six foundation in calf heifers were bought at the Autumn Devon Cattle Breeders Society sale at Taunton.

The full pedigree females were purchased from the Whitehall, Rockhead and Burwood herds. All calved without assistance with the heifer calves being retained to build up the herd. 2006 saw our bull Tilbrook Traditional arrive whose bloodlines include Dingle Objective 4th and Atlantic Darwin. His first calves have now arrived and are looking promising.

At the 2007 Spring Society sale, three Maiden Heifers were purchased from the Yeomadon, Tilbrook and Hasnett herds. We aim in the next few years to grow the herd and feel that the Red Ruby Devon breed will continue to gather in popularity and suits our farm.
