Tractor at Court Farm

History

Farming through the generations.

Peter and Trish Gwyn moved to Court Farm in 1970 having previously farmed next door. Up to 1999, the farm was used as a dairy farm with 100 Fresian cows being milked twice a day. Pigs, potatoes, youghurt and cream making have all played theirpart in the running of the farm over the years. With the introduction of Milk Quota's in the eighties, a small farm attraction was started alongside the dairy cows, using and converting some of the buildings as the years went by.

The decision was taken towards the end of the nineties, to sell the dairy herd and concentrate on the farm attraction. Although our main income comes from you, our visitors, the Gwyn family are still farmers and with their son Edward now farming both pedigree devon cows and Texel sheep, the farming side of the business now runs alongside the visitors. You may see farm work going on in the background during your visit.

We feel very strongly that there in a place in society, for family farms of our size and with an ever growing population we feel its important to not only produce quality food, but to also educate the public about it.
